Fiona Woon has been a valued member of Kegel, Tobin & Truce for over fifteen years. She joined the firm in 2003, and she has been a partner shareholder since 2007. She considers herself lucky to have been trained by the one and only W. Joseph Truce. His guidance helped her build the skills and legal knowledge to become a great workers’ compensation defense attorney.
Ms. Woon works in the challenging field of worker’s compensation. She focuses on litigating and defending claims for employers, insurance carriers, and claims managers. With her blend of education, skills, and expertise, Ms. Woon can serve her clients at the highest standard, no matter what their case involves. As an attorney for KT&T, she represents many large insurance companies and self-insured employers in defense of workers’ compensation matters. Ms. Woon also handles Labor Code Section 132a and Serious & Willful Misconduct claims on behalf of several employer clients.
Before starting her career as a workers’ compensation attorney, Ms. Woon earned her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 1999. She was a double major in Political Science and Communications. Ms. Woon went on to attend Southwestern University School of Law and got her JD degree in 2002. While going to law school, she had the chance to participate in a Trial Advocacy competition. She also worked as an intern at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. These opportunities gave her practice in drafting discovery motions, performing legal research, and handling criminal hearings. Combined with her education, this background helped prepare her to become a successful litigation attorney.
Ms. Woon manages our Long Beach office. She is a member of the State Bar of California and of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
