Hoang T. Nguyen is an associate attorney who joined the Kegel, Tobin & Truce firm in 2007. Over the past 12 years, he has proven to be an invaluable asset to the team. Mr. Nguyen is a dedicated and hard-working attorney who specializes in representing insured employers and their carriers. He possesses an extensive catalog of over 100 cases, including those regarding the California Guarantee Act.

Mr. Nguyen graduated from San Diego State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He later went on to get his law degree in 2005 from California Western School of Law.

In the past, he briefly worked for Hiden, Rott, and Oertle in San Diego. Through his many successes in personal injury and workers’ compensation cases, Mr. Nguyen developed a keen ear for understanding both sides of the story. He understands the complexities of each case and the importance of getting all the facts straight during a dispute. Knowing his opponents’ motives makes him one step ahead when it comes to winning these cases. He has successfully defended many injured employees before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, earning his clients the workers’ compensation that they deserve.

Mr. Nguyen is one of the most well-versed attorneys in the civil arena of law. He also has experience drafting briefs, negotiating settlements, examining medical records, and managing discovery requests.

Despite a specialty in workers’ compensation, Mr. Nguyen’s expertise covers multiple areas of legal practice. He often cites Clarence Darrow as his inspiration, an attorney who also had a strong passion for justice like Mr. Nguyen. At the end of the day, it’s essential for him to know that he performed his civic duty to the best of his ability. Justice being rightfully served in the courtroom is his top priority, and Mr. Nguyen brings this philosophy to all of his cases.

“ The law has made him equal, but man has not. And, after all, the last analysis is, what has man done? And not what the law has done. After all, every human being’s life in this world is inevitably mixed with every other life and, no matter what laws we pass, no matter what precautions we take, unless the people we meet are kind and decent and human and
liberty-loving, then there is no liberty. Freedom comes from human beings, rather than from laws and institutions. ”

– Clarence Darrow
