Joi Anderson has a great deal of experience in the field of Workers’ Compensation, having worked in that area for over 15 years. Ms. Anderson joined Kegel, Tobin & Truce in 2017, and since joining the firm, she has worked to build strong relationships with her clients and puts in the effort needed to get the best results for them in the most cost-effective manner.

In her work as a Workers’ Compensation attorney, Ms. Anderson has defended self-insured employers, third parties, and insurance carriers in all stages of litigation. Over the years she has handled many types of claims, including 132a and serious & willful misconduct cases, and has appeared at many of the Southern California and Northern California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards. Ms. Anderson is an able litigator with strong negotiation tactics and problem-solving skills that have helped her win many cases. Her ethos can be summed up by this quote from Nelson Mandela:

“ If you want the cooperation of humans around you, you must make them feel they are important, and you do that by being genuine and humble. ”

– Nelson Mandela

She brings this admirable philosophy to all of her work at KT&T and is a valuable member of the firm.

Before joining Kegel, Tobin & Truce, Ms. Anderson worked at several other firms, where she helped with business development while also managing her heavy caseload. She enjoyed working with managing partners to create strategies that would grow the firm’s overall business. She brings that same business-savvy thinking to her work at KT&T.

Ms. Anderson earned her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and went on to study at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. She joined the State Bar of California in 1994 and is a member of the California State Workers Compensation Bar Association.
