Jon E. von Leden is a vital member of the Kegel, Tobin & Truce team. He has been a part of the firm since 1980 and became a shareholder in 1989. With years of work in personal injury defense, Mr. von Leden is in charge of the personal injury defense and subrogation department for the firm.

Mr. von Leden began his legal career at the Law Offices of Hamrick and Locke. While he was an associate there, he focused on personal injury matters. He also worked for clients in defense of construction defect and property damage cases and handled personal injury cases for individuals.

After joining Kegel, Tobin & Truce, Mr. von Leden expanded his practice to include working for clients in subrogation matters. His cases fell mainly in the area of State and Federal workers’ compensation subrogation. After finding success in this field, it has become a primary focus for Mr. von Leden, and he has come to work mainly in the field of workers’ compensation subrogation.

In his current area of focus, he has handled client recoveries adding up to millions and has helped limit employers’ compensation exposure. He has also formed a track record of closing workers compensation cases using funds developed through subrogation. Mr. von Leden has represented clients in consultation and pre-litigation functions, as well as pre-trial, trial and appeals in the California State Courts, the Central District of the United States District Court, and in the local offices of the WCAB.

Jon earned his BA in Political Science from California State University, Northridge in 1976. He went on to earn a law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1979. He joined the State Bar of California in 1979 and the United States District Court for the Central District of California in 1980.
