Patrick S. Rajasingam brings a wealth of diverse experience and legal skills to the Kegel, Tobin & Truce team. From representing professional athletes to being a former business owner, Patrick’s well-rounded experience translates to superior customer service and focused expertise.

Since he joined Kegel, Tobin & Truce in August 2016, Patrick has worked with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers to handle every aspect of workers’ compensation litigation. His experience includes working with complex cases from inception until resolution — whether that is due to settlement or trial. Patrick also has a great deal of lien litigation experience.

Patrick takes a client-centric approach to every case he is involved in. One way he does so is by summarizing complex legal concepts and presenting them to his clients in a direct way that is easy to understand. This helps those who might not be as experienced in the workings of the workers’ compensation system stay informed and updated. It also assists claim examiners in making timely decisions.

Patrick is also known for his ability to settle cases at the deposition stage. He effectively closes clients’ files before they need to spend money on the costs that are associated with an extended litigation process. As a personal goal, he strives to return phone calls and emails within 24 hours. Patrick prides himself on communicating with his clients frequently. Patrick ensures that hearing reports are available quickly after an appearance. Patrick also keeps a running six-week diary of each client’s file, so he is always ready to update the claims examiner.

Before attending law school, Patrick was the owner and operator of a retail food business with two locations. He also worked with the Department of Housing as an environmental inspection subcontractor.

Those experiences help Patrick to bring the business owner’s perspective to each of his client’s cases. He provides his clients with a cost-benefit analysis, along with legal recommendations and strategy.

During his time out of the office, Patrick enjoys cooking, traveling, and attending sporting events and concerts. A devoted family man, he also relishes the time he’s able to spend with his wife and two children.
